It takes a minimum of 15–20 minutes for a BTC transfer from one address to another. In November 2017 it took 2 1/2 days for a transfer that I made to finally get confirmed and arrive.

There are ways for instant transfers through ‘lightning network’ protocol but the payer has to keep holding an open channel…

Regarding holding BTC to store value — it is true only for a ‘bull’ market… How quickly did we forget the recent ‘bear’ crypto market?!
